CREA Business Start-Up Support
CREA has been helping businesses in Eden and South Lakeland since 1984. We were established by a partnership of local authorities and private sector organisations to regenerate and strengthen the rural economy and create sustainable employment.
We have been running programmes to help start up new businesses for many years. Support includes pre-start business counselling, business skills training courses, seminars and workshops, and when funding allows start-up and marketing grants and networking meetings have been available. We thank those organisations who have helped fund this service in the past and those who continue to do so. These include North West Development Agency, the European Regional Development Fund, South Lakeland District Council, Eden District Council and Cumbria Vision.
Since 2004 CREA has helped nearly 650 new businesses to start in Eden and South Lakeland and continues to support them and existing businesses by finding funds to deliver programmes to meet their needs wherever we can.
